Heavenly Messages

Quietly they come
During times of meditation
Visions of the cross
Our Savior’s hour of tribulation

Pictures flood my mind
As I slumber in the night
Messages from God
A gift of future sight

Glimpses of what is to come
Rebuking the past
Warnings and revelations
Instructions to pray and fast

Dreams and visions come and go
Like elusive wisps of cloud
Never knowing what I’ll see
With head and spirit bowed

Holli's Notes:
I worked on this poem, and thought it was finished, at the end of November. However, when I went to copy it into my online archive, it felt like something was missing, so I left it alone. Then I came back to it in April and within a few minutes the third stanza was done, as well as the whole poem.
