About

My name is Holli Swank, and I am thrilled that you’ve chosen to visit my website. If you’re here on this page, you probably want to know a little more about the person behind the words, so here we go!

First and foremost, I am a child of God. My relationship with God was off and on for many years. I never completely walked away, but I wasn’t fully engaged either. I would pray when things got tough or scary, but like many others, when things were good the praying stopped. My poetry has helped to focus me, but I have to remind myself every day, sometimes several times, that He loves me.

I am also a wife and the mother of three amazing children. My husband and I have been walking out this marriage thing since 1999, and we’ve been blessed with two daughters, born in 2000 and 2004, and a son in 2002. My family is incredibly important to me, and I write in part for them.

I was born in Fort Wayne, IN and lived in Terre Haute, IN for sixteen years after meeting my husband online. In August 2015, we packed up everything we owned and moved to Tennessee. It has been a grand adventure to be certain, with ups and downs, but it was clearly God’s path for our family. The beauty of this state cannot be exalted too many times.

I absolutely love to create and tell stories. I wrote extensively in middle school, including poetry and the beginnings of a novel, encouraged by teachers and my grandmother. Once I started, I didn’t stop, leaving work behind in high school, college classes, and everyday life as my husband and I raised our children. I even helped them learn how to write as part of their homeschool curriculum, which inspired me to start crafting novels for them.

In 2012, I was diagnosed with relapsing remitting multiple sclerosis. It was a shock, and it has been a struggle since then. Some things have become more difficult and proven to be challenges to my writing, but I have used the chaos and emotions as motivation. I am fortunate to have the medication available that I need to manage the disease and the people that support me.

Thank you for stopping by to learn more about me. I hope you enjoy what I have created and that you are blessed always.
