Christmas Messenger

Burning bright
Throughout the night
Rising up high
Lighting the sky
Christmas messenger

Trembling in fear
At what we hear
Let us see if this is true
Then go and spread the news
Christmas messengers

Singing songs of glory
Telling the Child’s story
A baby in the straw
Come to fulfill the law
Christmas messengers

Coming from afar
Following the blessed star
Worshiping on bended knee
With our fine gifts three
Christmas messengers

I carry the story in me
Of the baby so holy
Spreading it with zeal
That all might know it’s real
Christmas messenger

Holli’s Notes:
I love the riddle of this poem. I wanted to talk about the different experiences people have had, but not name them directly.
