Flame of Faith

Slowly it flickers
Deep within us
We feel its warmth

Gradually it grows
Taking root like a seed
Lovingly cared for

Fanned by worship
Fed by prayer
It becomes a flame

The fire of God within us
Let it never die
And spread far beyond

Composition Date: March 12th, 2010

Holli’s Notes:
This poem was inspired by the Misty Edwards song, ‘Stir Up the Flame’. It has long been one of my favorites and moves my soul every time I hear it, so I decided to use it as a base for a poem.
