One Moment (Reprise)

One moment at the height of popularity
The next moment cries of hatred
Raising the level of barbarity
Beaten, abused, and degraded

One moment twelve men at his side
The next moment betrayed and arrested
Facing the priests and three times denied
None of the charges he contested

One moment people hanging on every word
The next moment hanging Him on a cross
With every hammer strike incurred
He steps closer to victory through loss

One moment lying in the tomb
The next moment risen and alive
The goal from before Mary’s womb
Now we will live because He died

Holli’s Notes: This is the matching poem to One Moment from Christmas. I think I am developing a “style” all my own in writing matching pairs for Christmas and Easter. That thought makes me very happy.
