Work in Progress

No matter how it seems
I’m not all put together
I still have faults and foolish dreams
And probably will forever

Because even though I love my God
And try to follow His lead
He often has to poke and prod
For me to do the deed

He faithfully plots a course for me
That I often wander from
I do not have the sense to see
Or hear Him saying, “Come!”

But I am getting better
As time slowly marches by
And work to follow to the letter
The Lord my God on high

I strive to always do His will
And He constantly tries to stress
While I may never best the hill
I’m His cherished work in progress

Holli’s Notes:
I think sometimes I put on a brave face for people, not letting them see the chaos behind my eyes. I want everyone to think that everything is fine and all my flaws have been fixed, but they haven’t, and they likely never will. But that’s okay. As long as I keep walking, He’ll be there beside me.
